Fourth Baby Pt 5

She is here! Born yesterday morning! My worst experience with labor-EVER!!! I am use to light contractions, water breaking, hard labor for about an hour and baby in my arms. This time it was 4 a.m. ramping towards hard labor and then it was hard labor, water breaking, more hard labor and baby in my arms 40ish minutes later. She was born at 11:09 a.m. So, as you can see it was very different and very painful. If I was at a hospital instead of at home I think I would have chickened out and asked for the pain killers. It was awful!

She does have a cleft lip. Her palate is there, and I am nursing, but wondering if she is having that "drinking through a straw with holes in it" issue because it a little lopsided. I may need to use a special bottle. We will be going to the specialist next week, or the week after, I hope.

My children -the older ones- love her. We are going to wait on showing her to the baby. She loves dolls and is a little wild; so, we are gonna wait. Later in the afternoon, my son came to see his baby sister. He said, "Mommy, I saw the baby's 'owie' the one you told me about a long, long, long time ago. Do you remember? (I nod) It's OK because the doctors are going to fix it." I just love my son. When we talked about this he did not seem like he was even listening, but he was.

As he said, "It's OK." I'm OK. She is a blessing! I'm...We are very happy to have her here with us-FINALLY! Well, there still is a problem....ugh!....she still needs to be named.
